As a middle school teacher, Open House was simply not a big deal. As a middle school math teacher, it was almost not a deal at all. I threw up a couple of student made math posters and- voila! Open House ready! A few years of teaching in the land of single subjects made the huge production that is Open House nothing but a faint memory from my past. Fast forward to the present- back in elementary- and Open House is back on my plate. I came across some old pictures, from my old classroom. Oh the old classroom- a quaint little room from 1920. It came fully equipped with hardwood floors, a metal furnace, and an over worked mini air-conditioner window unit. If I said I missed that room- I would be lying. :) Looking back at these pictures though, sure does make me smile.
