Screen Free Language Arts Activities

1. Read your favorite book and tell a parent or sibling about your favorite parts.
2. Start a family book club! 
3. Write a letter to a friend.
4. Make a comic. Think of a super hero who saves the day. Draw and write about their adventures!
5. Play "Guess What?" Each player will find an object in the room to focus on. Using a timer, each person will write as many sentences as possible in 30 seconds describing the object.  Players must write about the object in as much detail as possible (without naming the object) The other members of the family must guess what the object is based on the written description! Each round, extend the time by 15 seconds (pick new objects) This game is good for writing practice but also makes for some fun family laughs!
6. Write lyrics to your own song.
